I use Ubuntu as my main desktop OS but would like to use the Streamer for Splashtop Remote. There is no way to do this now. Linux version should be easy to do as you already have a version for two platforms. Adding third shouldn't be much of a problem. Splashtop Remote is used on ASUS netbooks - many people use Ubuntu on them.

Yes, Please! Would love to see an ubuntu version.
i use ubuntu too and this would be a great addition.
linux is as important as win and mac..
Bought the android client, went to install PC client, was none for Ubuntu so refunded it through market. If you actually have support for my OS I may consider coming back. That is unless I find another remote desktop app that CAN support me.
Adding my own request for Ubuntu support. I am a long time webOS user and would love to be able to buy the handset and TouchPad versions of this application when it supports my desktop environment.
My 2nd pc at home runs ubuntu - would love to be able to conenct to this from my android device - gets a big thumbs up from me
Yes please. A linux client would be highly appreciated.
That would be awesome if you guys made one for ubuntu. It would be highly appriciated.
A linux version would be very appreciated.
Yes, I too wish to see a Linux server/streamer. Especially since Splashtop itself is a Linux distribution, I didn't even consider that there wouldn't be a Linux streamer/server.

I would love an Ubuntu version, Being a Windows user for about 15 years, after a year of using Linux, I can hardly imagine going back. Not knocking the MS OS at all, it does have great compatibility with non mainstream hardware and since Vista came out, some long overdue security improvements. It is a great workhorse. But Linux has become one, too. I don't mind paying good money for good software an I certainly would for a Linux version of your great product.
+1
Let's get it done already.
would greatly appreciate an Ubuntu streamer. This would be great.

I agree!
Especially Ubuntu/Debian. Debian based distributions seem quite common. Or, perhaps it could be like a virtualbox "generic" version that would be of a *.run executable that could build and install itself.
There is a trickyness to this and I am not surprised that we have not seen a Linux version. It would be a challenge to support due to the varieties of linux versions out there; however, Oracle and AMD (radeon-ati drivers) seem to pull it off.
Ubuntu version would be awesome for such a great app
yes, make an ubuntu version please
I installed the windows version of Splashtop Streamer using wine in Ubuntu. It installed and I did the setup with port number, etc but the ipad Splashtop can't connect for some reason. Checked the IP numbers to match ubuntu's and port, but no go. Wine event put the little Splashtop notification icon next to the date on the toolbar (taskbar?)
Yes please port it to linux.
I don't have windows or mac.
+1. Need it for Ubuntu!!!
I tried wine but it didn't work.so I request a generic linux version atleast!
I use this with webOS and windows but would love access to my ubuntu machine!
Im fairly certain that if you fine people came to include linux as a server/streamer option, you would gain that support of the linux community, including the caveliers that would boast your product in representing what they so often are: The computer nerd everyone in the neighborhood goes to for an issue/advice... and/or the etc. However, I am unsure about the licensing and any contracts you may have made with the windows/mac software bases. However, if you could make the streamer have a compatability with say... an alternative frame buffer... or a means to relay... Well... you know.
Another +1. Just do it. You know you want to.
I'll pay for the app when I get a linux server.
You can count me as yet another Linux user that would like to see Splashtop Remote Desktop for Linux. I've already paid for the iPad version because it was better than the other alternatives (free and paid). I'm probably going to buy the Android version and the iPod Touch version in the near future too.
yes please, need it for Linux
Starting to find myself on Ubuntu more often than Windows, but miss Splashtop. If I have to purchase/find a new app I will, but I'd rather stick to what I already use. Please push a Linux release!
Yes please.
I would definitely buy the app, if it was a linux release.
I hope to be out soon.

come on splashtop, let's go

Mac and PC, now you must include linux! Come on!
Team Viewer has linux support but, I like how splashtop gives you sound as well. Please add linux (.deb) to the list of supported OSes.
I almost purchased this app from the Amazon app store then I thought, hmm.. better check for Linux support. No Linux support, no purchase.
I will definitely buy this app if Linux -particularly Ubuntu- is supported. It can't be that difficult to port the software to this platform and I can guarantee that the result would be a great boost to Splashtop since much of the Linux community already uses platforms like Android, where the app is already marketed. If you don't do it, you're missing a great opportunity.
Same here, one click away from the purchase, but lack of Linux support if crucial. How can I get notified once this is available?
Count me in. I'm not buying Streamer until I can access my Ubuntu box. Until then, I'll be looking for an alternative.
Please add Ubuntu or Debian
add me to the list, Linux support (especially for Ubuntu & Mint) is going to be an increasingly commonplace requirement for all apps. A former Windows user for 10 years, It's all I use nowadays.
Please, Please, Please....
Can any confirm that there is a Ubuntu version in the works? Ive already purchased every Slashtop App for iOS and have been using ubuntu lately and decided to check and see if there was a streamer for it. I would pay once more if needed although I was dissapointed to see that I was charged for Splashtop 2 HD when I was under the impression that it was a free upgrade for existing Splashtop purchasers. I need to go lay down and try to get some sleep and I really wanted to check out Ubuntu using touch controls on my Ipad 3 and get some things done before falling asleep.
Hi all,
We do work on a new Streamer for ubuntu, it's in testing stage, please stay tuned.
Yes...
I like!
Yay!!
:-)
@Jaff.... VERY excited to see that an Ubuntu streamer is in the works, as a heavy user of both splashtop and ubuntu separately, and as an android and web developer, the final deliver of this product will complete the transition of my workflow to my tablet as a primary computer.
Is there any way to volunteer for beta testing?
@Jaff....I want to be volunteer for beta testing... i need to control my audio mixer with ipad2. :-)
@arthur ferreira gomes,
Thanks! once we need beta testers, I know I can get many from here. :p
Count me in, too!
yea a lot more people are using ubuntu nowadays and im sure many people using linux would love to see a linux version for splashtop streamer!
thankw :)
Love to try this product, but if there's there's no Linux support, it's a non-starter. Too bad...it might have held promise. Maybe if you guys ever get serious.
Yes!!!! Ubuntu Version!!! please!!! cunt me in as beta tester!!!! any-day.

Thank you!!! You are an amazing company for supporting Linux (Ubuntu).
Yes, I would love having the splashtop streamer for Ubuntu. I tried installing the windows version and wine, and it does install, but it crashes when I try to run it. Please develop a Ubuntu / Linux streamer! :-)
