Remove some old records to shorten the list and increase the readability for new users.
Does not work with 2-step authentication. If iput in my actual gmail password it tells me its incorrect, this is normal.
WHen i put in the password made specifically for this purpose, it just spins...
@yoann bohbot,
Login fail on 2-step authentication on Mac Streamer is a known issue in v1.5.0.1 and fixing right now. As we know, it's only happened on Mac Streamer, please let us know if it also happens on Windows Streamer or iOS/Android client side.
Thanks!
Works fine on mac. What's interesting, is even without 2step, the authentication never seemed to finish, yet it's discoverable from my ipad...it seems to be a graphical glitch?!
@Jaff regarding the issue with 2-step-verification, where can I receive a notification when a new version is available or when that issue is fixed?
Thanks,
Andrew
@John DelCamp,
To enable Internet discovery feature on Mac Streamer, you need to install Mac Streamer program on your Mac(download from our website http://www.splashtop.com/remote/download), then try to login your gmail account from Settings tab of Streamer program.
@Andrew,
This 2-step-verification issue has been fixed and will come with next update. It should be soon, please stay tuned.
Hi John DelCamp,
Glad to hear you can connect with our Internet discovery feature.
With your gmail account logged in, your ipad should be able to find your home computer everywhere with wifi signal. The connectivity should be very near to reconfiguring modem settings.
The only way to check at home if Internet discovery work or not when away from home is to connect via 3g, if your ipad doesn't have 3g capability, you may find another router to connect from neighborhood if available.
You can keep firewall ON if you already added Splashtop Remote in trusted list no matter Internet discovery on or off.
I'm unable to find version 1.9.6.5 in the Android market. Is this due to my device is not supported? Or is there another reason?
Droid X
current Splashtop remote v 1.1.5.3r 9716
@Jaff
Thanks again. One last problem I've noticed is that the iPad will not be able to find my iMac if the iMac has entered the sleep mode. Is this normal?If so, do I need to adjust my iMac settings so that the computer never enters sleep or is there another way around this issue?
Thanks, John
@Brandon,
v1.9.6.5 is for Android HD devices (with Android 3.0+), your v1.1.5.3 is for android 2.x devices.
@John DelCamp,
Splashtop Remote Mac Streamer currently doesn't support connecting to a Mac Streamer in sleep mode, it's a current limitation. The current only way to keep the connectivity is to keep Mac streamer awake.
@Jaff
ahh that would be why. Might want to add that to the description up top?
Thanks for the reply :)
@John,
Are you using Lion on your mac? We got a black screen known issue on Lion, please try our Mac Streamer v1.5.0.1 beta version for OS X 10.7 Lion.
http://www.splashtop.com/remote/download
@Brandon,
Thanks for suggestion, will send to our team for improvement :)
I have a GMail account and I have put every thing in that is required but I get it to except the acount. What ma I doing wrong?
Regards
Rick
@John,
Another reason to cause balck screen is connecting via 3G, if you connected your computer with 3G from ipad, this kind of problem might happen occasionally and depends on the network bandwidth over the internet.
Solution :
a) Please try to connect later after peak time or connect from another location and see if any difference.
b) Another suggestion you could try is to lower resolution setting from tablet side(ex.1024x768 or 800x600...)
@Rick,
Do you mean you can't login with your gmail account successful or you can't connect after gmail logged in on both ipad and streamer sides?
my internet connexion(Gmail) works but the app doesn't find my computer
It looks like more and more of us have the same problem. But as yet we are not getting an answers, why not, can't you fix it? if so why don't you just tell us so we can also give up asking.
@Rick,
Sorry for late response because I'm still waiting your confirmation by my previous mail along with John.
@legale, Scott, Rick,
Could you try our test account as follows:
email: SRD.test01@gmail.com
password: 1234qwer!
Note: this gmail account is for test only, please do not take it for other personal purpose.
We collected some factors about gmail login fail cases on below link, please have a look, they may help too.
http://support-remote.splashtop.com/entries/20329286-why-does-my-gmail-login-fail-on-internet-discovery-feature
@Scott,
We need more info about your usage :
Could you share us your gmail account? xxx@gmial.com?
what's your Streamer? Mac 10.6.x? 10.7.2?
Are you using 2-step-verification password for your googletalk login? (a 16 characters password)
Where are you logging in your gmail account? (office with proxy server?)
@Scott,
just a confirmation, your streamer version is v1.5.0.2, you should be a Mac Streamer user, right?
If you are using a 2-step-verification 16 characters password, we have a known issue on gmail login and will be fixed in coming update. (v1.5.5.2 for Mac Streamer)
Thanks for the test info and I now have access with version 1.5.5.2 after it reinstalled.
@Scott,
Where's your Windows Streamer? at home or office?
When you login your gtalk from your pc, do you login from browser(ex. IE, FF)? or from a standalone gtalk application?
Could you try uninstall Windows Streamer and re-install then restart your pc, then try again?
I also used the test gmail when I reinstalled it and it still didn't work
@Scott,
Your problem is a little out of our experience. Please confirm the following questions to help us identify your problem as follows:
Could you login successfully on your ipad side with your gmail account?
Can you connect your ipad and pc within a local network without Internet discovery enabled?
Yes my ipod did login successfully and I Can connect it with my local network. I've tried the alternative way (port forwarding) and I think I almost got that right but I'm still having trouble with it.
any plans to get this working on the Android app for 2.3? I plan on getting the Droid Bionic and its laptop dock. This app would be KILLER if it worked with the laptop dock.
Hi there,
Great app, been enjoying it for a while now on my iPad but haven't been able to get it to connect to my home computer from an external WiFi network (i.e. when my home computer and iPad aren't connected to the same router).
I'm running the most current versions of the app and the streamer (and yes, I've got the Lion version of the streamer as I'm running 10.7), and when I try to login to my gmail account on the streamer it just spins endlessly. I can login to my gmail account on the app just fine.
I've scanned the entire thread and I don't see any guidance that I haven't already tried. Any new advice?
Thanks in advance,
Carey
@Scott,
Check the firewall settings and open ports on your router are also possible solutions. Please let us know if you need our help on ports forwarding issue, here is a link with a sample on Linksys may help:

@Carey Du Gray,
If you are using a gmail account with 2FA authentication password on Mac Streamer : this is a known issue and fixed from v1.5.5.2. It's coming soon. There're more possile reasons and suggestions on this link:
http://support-remote.splashtop.com/entries/20329286-why-does-my-gmail-login-fail-on-internet-discovery-feature
@Brandon Hinson,
We do have plan on supporting android 2.x devices Internet discovery feature, however, there's still no solid schedule yet, please stay tuned.
IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! (pcwintech had more specific router instructions than portforward)
Brandon's right, I just realized that it works alot slower when you're connected to another network. Is there any way to help this go faster?
Splashtop Remote will run time streaming your screen to your ipad through the network, so the performance mainly depends on the bandwidth capacity and real available bandwidth. Generally, use ipad outside to watch a movie that playing on your home computer is not a feasible use model.
However, the follwoing suggestions can still improve some performace :
1.use your ipad in a stable networking environment, basically, public sites like Starbucks, airport won't have good networking quality even you are using 3g to connect.
2.remove the possible blocks in your streamer side, ex. disable firewall on anti-virus or security softwares(like MSE, one of our user shared his experience here http://support-remote.splashtop.com/entries/20186093-sound-problems-for-windows-vista-and-windows7-with-realtek-hd-sound-card) or firewall settings on your home router
3.connect with LAN in streamer side (LAN is always better and stable than wifi)
4.change to "smooth mode" from ipad side (default is "sharp mode") by 3 fingers gesture
5.lower the resolution to 800x600 on streamer side to minimize the streaming data size
This link also provide more details:
http://support-remote.splashtop.com/entries/512340-how-can-i-improve-video-smoothness-when-watching-a-movie-on-my-tablet-or-phone
Hope this helps.
Internet Discovery dicided to start working for some random reason. Now I have internet discovery and port forwarding working. PS. Those speed tips really helped! THANK YOU JAFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Woo-Hoo!!
I also like that you can still control your home computer at the same time
I'm able to connect through my gmail account and see my desktop, however, I can't do anything but view. Any commands or key entries I make do not register on the desktop. Am I missing some setup options?
ok...so I have an @gmail account. ...but I can't successfully log in on either the streamer or on the ipad...however your test @gmail account works...suggestions??
@John,
Is your gmail password 2-step-authentication? (16 characters generated by google system)
Two suggestions for you:
1.change to another simpler password and try again if your password is defined by yourself, then change back to a longer secured one if working (or change password by google system again for 2-step case)
2.apply another gmail account used for Splashtop Remote connection only.
ok...I probably have to use another gmail account...I'll try that next
it worked...thanks

My iPad(2) Splashtop app seems to discover my iMac [Lion] (at home) via internet discovery (gmail sign-in).
My iMac is on 'Sleep' mode at home.
1. Could this be the reason why the app says 'Cannot connect to your computer' and then closes?
2. If yes, isn't there any other ways to wake my iMac via Splashtop on my iPad?
By the way, it works fine when I am on the same Wi-F at home. But I haven't checked if the app wakes the iMac while sharing same Wi-Fi.
@Kuldeep,
Splashtop Remote currently doesn't support to connect to a sleeping mac computer.
For wake-on-lan issue, please check this link for more info:

Maybe I'm just missing it, but I can't seem to find Internet Discovery on my Android App. I have the latest version from the Market, but I just don't see it. Help, please?
@Matthew,
We do have plan to support Internet discovery with gmail acount in our Splashtop Remote Desktop for Android phone (with Android v 2.x), please stay tuned. (latest version is v1.1.5.2)
Works fine at home works fine whilst away from home over WIFI used to work via 3G but a couple of weeks ago it stopped connecting, it finds my computer but will not connect, any ideas???
Jaff:
I have recently purchased the remote HD app for my iPad 2.
Everything works except for internet access.
The iPad sees my computer on 3G but when trying to connect i get the "Couldn't connect" message. I have tried changing resolutions and so on without help. My router has no firewall limits (belkin n600).
Using iMac 27"
Thanks for some help!
@Leif, Mark,
Our latest streamer got an known issue which needs more bandwidth to connect to streamer. 3g usually shares bandwidth with others who enabled 3g in a same location and easy to fail to connect. We are improving this issue, please try again in another time slot or location. Sorry about this inconvenience.
Hi there! Just bought both the iPad and the Android versions. The iPad works perfectly! The Android... not as I expected. I have the new Droid Bionic that has a very powerful CPU but still the 2.3 version, so no HD version of Splashtop for me, right? Without the HD version, my understanding is that there is no internet discovery, too. And it is a shame. It's the best feature you guys have created - besides the extremely fast streaming that puts splashtop on a category by itself. Please, make the internet discovery available for us, Gingebread users! Please? ;-)
Update docs to add support for the Touchpad/webOS app pls :) It works fine - although I have heard some suggestions that perhaps the performance through the google service is somewhat lessened, when compared to merely opening the proper ports on your firewalls. Any truth to that?
I haven't been able to get this to work. My iPad sees the computer, eventually a see a popup notification on the computer that a remote user has connected, then I see an error on the iPad "cannot connect" with S=10 E=84000121 Trying again, I see the popup, but the iPad continues to spin its cursor--no error message yet, but nothing's happening.
This app is working for me, just haven't figured out how to get wake on lan to work with my pc (via appropriate app). I have a tv card on the remote pc so can watch tv on my rooted nook color and hulu desktop also. I am having difficulties with the video/audio being a bit choppy though. I don't see any settings in Splashtop for adjustment other than video. Would adjusting video to smaller size make a difference? The desktop monitor resolution is 1440x900. Netflix works fine on my Nook, so, I don't think it is the settings on the Nook that are a problem. Any ideas?
I purchased both the Remote desktop & CamCam for the iphone and can't get either to work outside of my local network via 3g or wifi. I tried both discovery mode and opening ports on my firewall and router, still no luck. For internet discovery I get error, "Could not sign in. Please verify your credentials and network connection and try again." Otherwise I get, could not reach xx.xxx.x.xx (IP). I have tried 2 different PCs, one running Windows 7 and one running XP, can't access either outside home network. I also tried running the apps from my ipad, not working there either. What suggestions do you have?
I set up a gmail account. I am using a Verizon Mifi for internet connection on my Ipad2. My Ipad finds my computer, but when I go to connect, it says "can't connect to computer". Any ideas?
i am getting- "Login failed. Please verify your credentials and network connection and try again."
my account is a gmail.com account trying to connect to a macbook pro with an ipad 2.
I installed the mac streamer on Mac Air, 2011, running OS Lion. Have not been able to open it to make the internet changes necessary. When I installed it there was no question about anything except the passcode. Then it disappeared and cannot get it to open on the Mac. It does work on my home network just fine.
I can get it to find my desktop and connect but the problem I am having is staying connected and when it is connected getting it to respond to what I want to do. All I get is my desktop showing but nothing happens when I try and open a program or even move the curser. I am on high speed internet so bandwidth is not the issue. Works great if I am on the same network but away from home it is just useless.
I have splashtop on my PlayBook and on my home and office desktops.
The LAN wifi connections work very well.
The internet (gmail) connection allows for the desktops to be automatically found very quickly, but when I try to connect, the app crashes on the PB, i.e. I am sent to the PB home screen.
I am running vista on the desktop
Thanks for your help.
I use windows and have an HP Touchpad.
I am wondering how to set up an account without using the internet discovery. I have been able to locate it by using this feature but wondered if it can also be set up manually. We do have the option to add another computer so I was trying to see if it was something that could be done for remote as well. I have tried a couple of times with no success. I now have my PC listed 3 times and two of them do not work when not on the same network but if i am on the same network as my PC i can use any of the ones i set up manually. Last item. How do i delete the ones I do not need. I don't see any feature to remove them.
I am unable to connect using xoom 3g on verizon
@rick camozzi,
We are sorry still doesnot support none @gmail, @googlemail.com as the login credentials for webOS devices.
@Zach Van Fleet,
Have you got a chance to have a reference on this link? it collected some tips for gmail login issues.
http://support-remote.splashtop.com/entries/20329286-why-does-my-gmail-login-fail-for-the-internet-discovery-feature
@Georges Kiener ,
Looks like there's firewall from the 3rd party anti-virus or security software, please check this link to get a reference on how to adjust firewall settings for Splashtop Streamer.
http://support-remote.splashtop.com/entries/20570351-firewall-settings-on-different-anti-virus-security-software
@Tbeasl38 ,
Is there any protection setup on your router, like Microsoft Security Essentials?
1.Please check above link for Georges Kiener to get instructions to let some Splashtop Streamer files be the exception list.
2.Another possibel reason is the router, please restart your router to see if there's any difference.
3.Try lower the resolution to be 800x600 on computer to see if there's difference.
@rick camozzi,
Sorry, I just found I gave a wrong response for your questions.
Here are the update:
Basically, Splashtop Remote can automatically scan and discover your computers within the local network or remote network but logged-in with a same gmail credential as ipad's. You can also manually add a new profile by tapping the '+', or remove an old profile which won't be used any more. Here are two links describe more in details.
http://support-remote.splashtop.com/entries/266053-how-do-i-add-or-specify-a-computer-i-want-to-connect-to
http://support-remote.splashtop.com/entries/266296-how-do-i-delete-a-computer-that-i-no-longer-use
Regarding this: "NOTE: The gmail account you use for Splashtop Remote Desktop or Splashtop Streamer will cause your Google Talk status to be shown as "Online." If you don't want the status to be shown as "Online," you can create another gmail account to be used exclusively with Splashtop Remote."
Is there some way this message can be included in the actual applications themselves? I had a *hellish* experience trying to figure out why my contacts were seeing me online (after I was asked why I hadn't responded to messages). I don't mind creating another gmail account for this purpose, as I love the app (and the idea behind this feature), but it would definitely be better to make this known up front when someone is setting up the internet discovery feature.
I would even go so far as to recommend that users create a separate gmail account if they wish to use this feature, as it will cause you to miss any messages that are sent while you are signed out of any other Google Talk clients. Another side effect besides appearing always online in Google Talk and missing messages, was that I was unable to change my status to anything other than green and available, no matter what client I used.
Hi - I purchased Splashtop HD for Transformer Prime running Android 4.0. It works fine for accessing my home computer when I am near my wireless router - however when I try to access from another location using Internet Discovery - when I enter my gmail address and password - the verify goes crazy and just keeps looping - veryfy/cancel over and over! I know my email and password are correct. PLEASE HELP! Thanks.
@Cyrille Brière, Cyrille Brière,
If your gmail can't be successfully logged-in, please check this link for some suggestions.
http://support-remote.splashtop.com/entries/20329286-why-does-my-gmail-login-fail-for-the-internet-discovery-feature
note: please specially pay attention on :
1.try to unlock your gmail even though it can be logged-in in another computer or device. (try our test gmail is a good comparison)
2.consult network admin or IT, if most of ports including 5222 used by gmail have been blocked. In this case, It's impossible to get connection by Spalshtop Remote.
Hi all!
Have been carefully reading instructions, but seems like I cannot connect to my home computer (win7 64 bits) any more from my Transformer (TF101) using an external IP address (home network works just fine).
I am using my gmail account on both the tower and the tablet - ports are open in the router settings - allowed by win7 firewall - both apps up-to-date ...
Seems like internet discovery doesn't see any computer with my gmail account, however it works using the test gmail address you provide.
I have created an new connection manually, using my latest external IP address - using same code on both machines - but I always get the message "failed to connect".
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated...
Thank you in advance for your help!
@Lundi-vendredi,
If your environment can use our test gmail but cannot with your personal gmail, please try to do an UNLOCK to see if there's difference.
1.login your Google gmail account on your computer
2.go to this URL to unlock it https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha
Hi, New here. I have an android tablet running ICS. I am unable to locate the menu and settings to activate internet discovery. I can log on flawlessly through a LAN connection and my Tablet with WebOS can log in flawlessly both LAN and Remote. What am I missing. Please show me screen shots so I can find the Internet Discovery sign in page for my Android Tablet.
@Nick Aloisio,
If you downloaded the version of Splashtop Remote Desktop for Android from GetJar, it won't support Internet discovery feature.
I have no idea what getjar is i downloaded it from the android app store.
I
@Nick Aloisio,
Thanks for feedback.
What's your device? AUSU Transformer Prime?
What's the version of Splashtop Remote Desktop you installed? for HD or non-HD?
for HD:(v1.9.8.6)
Please go to the Splashtop Remote global settings by clicking on the icon in the upper-right corner, and select Settings.
for non-HD:(v1.6.5.6)
Please go to the Splashtop Remote global settings by pressing on the hard key ”Menu” in the bottom of the screen, and select Settings.
I have a HP Touchpad running Cyanogen Mod 9 (ICS). I've paid for Splashtop remote thru the android market.
I''ve confirmed I'm running non-hd 1.6.5.6 but I cannot for the life of me figure out what the hard key "Menu" at the bottom of the screen is referring to. The only thing I see at the bottom of my Splashtop screen is "How do I find my Computer?" At the top right I see a + Sign and a refresh icon. What am I missing? FYI I am able to flawlessly connect via LAN connection and it runs awesome. I really need this functionality as I travel quite a bit.
@Nick,
Can you find there is an icon on the bottom bar (looks like the taskbar on Windows) ? It should be the fourth one, you can click it to open the settings menu.
Hope that helps. Thank you!
As I posted IN OCTOBER:
I haven't been able to get this to work. My iPad sees the computer, eventually a see a popup notification on the computer that a remote user has connected, then I see an error on the iPad "cannot connect" with S=10 E=84000121 Trying again, I see the popup, but the iPad continues to spin its cursor--no error message yet, but nothing's happening.
I think it's way past time for me to post a 1-star review so that you can't swindle any other customers.
Hi all,
A new feature "Optimize for your network" implemented in latest update(paired by iOS app v1.7.5.4+Windows Streamer v1.7.5.4), this is specially for remote connection case via 3g or unstable wifi network, welcome to have a try. (currently only for iOS client + Windows Streamer)
1.update iOS app to v1.7.5.4 from Apple app store
2.update Windows Streamer v1.7.5.4 from http://www.splashtop.com/streamer/download
3.enable option "Optimize for your network" from ipad/settings (Gear icon on upper right)
Splashtop Remote version - 1.6.5.6 - Running on Samsung Epic - Android - 2.3.6
Splashtop Streamer version - 1.7.5.4 - Running on Windows 7 Ultimate - 64 bit
I have very inconsistent success at connecting remotely using the internet discovery feature, here are the details I can provide.
Attempting to use internet discovery by itself always fails over a remote connection, the gmail login works fine on both my phone and my computer. Over a remote connection internet discovery's system is always listed as "Could not reach." I attempted to implement the port forwarding technique, I set up my router, firewall, etc. and created a connection on the "remote" app. Once I configured the manual connection, internet discovery claimed my desktop was "found automatically at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"
Attempting to connect through the manual configuration fails always, this may be a misconfiguration, I'm not trying to get trouble shooting on that. The matter I'm trying to address is that with this configuration, I can connect through internet discovery with ONLY these very specific steps.
Attempt to connect through internet discovery connection - Prompted "Please wait while connecting" - 100% of the time it will return with "Connect failed"
At this point the internet discovery listing switches to "Could not reach" - hitting refresh changes the status of the internet discovery connection to "Found Automatically" - Between 1/2 second and 5 seconds will pass between this change and it updating to "Found automatically at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" - If I hit the internet discovery connection while it is still in "Found Automatically" I will almost always succeed in connecting (95%+), on the other hand, if it switches quickly or I wait until "Found automatically at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" appears, the second attempt to connect will always fail.
I have tested this extensively to make sure it was not a fluke or a coincidence that I was just making into a pattern in my mind.
In addition, if I remove the manually configured connection, my phone will no longer be able to locate my desktop through internet discovery. I did this today, for 3 hours it was unable to ever connect, I replaced the manually configured connection, and it began to work again exactly as described above.
Hi Jaff,
I have ipad 3 latest version and MacBook Pro OS X 10.7.3 and pc windows 7. I can use my splashtop HD (1.7.5.4) at home to remotley access both upper computers with no probelm through the home WiFi. However, I have not been able to access either my mac or pc once I am away from home.
I have tried lots of things uninstall/reinstall, remove and add the computers ....etc still no hope
Can you please help
@Firas ,
Have you enabled Internet discovery feature with a gmail logged in on both ipad and pc/mac?
If your remote network is a weak wifi or 3g, please remember to enable the setting "optimize for your network" from Gear icon on upper right(ipad).
Use a lower resolution on mac/pc is also helpful for this remote case.
Try another strong remote wifi to see if there's any difference. If it can connect, it can prove there's no firewall issue between your ipad and computer.
Hi, trying to connect over strong 3g connection with no luck on a android 4.0 mobile phone i just get connection failed message. Tried forwarding 5222 and splashtop ports but made no difference. Any ideas on how to get this working?
Thanks
Hi Jaff, many thanks for your comments.
I have tried them all but still can not connect. No problem with conneting with local wifi but not via internet
I trried it with both mac and pc still no luck.
Any other tips?
Regards
Firas
@Firas,
It looks like a firewall blocked the remote connection in your case. Please check your router and confirm firewall is off and no special ports are blocked. Please also check your mac/pc, if there's antivirus software installed, please modify the settings to allow Splashtop Streamer passing it, this link may help you know how to adjust the settings if you can find your software in the list.

Can you login your gmail on both your android device and computer successfully? Please confirm you have successfully login your gmail on both sides before making connection.
3G usually can't provide a good bandwidth even the signal is strong, please try to lower the resolution on your computer to 800x600 to minimize the streaming size, it may help,
I agree with Lee...can you please refund me the app simply does not work with external netweork or 3g.

@Jaff Yes can confirm logged in on both to the same account. Have used lowest resolution as well as 4g signal, it's just not happening.
@Firas what other app have you gotten to work?

Hi all,
We recently did get some feedbacks about "hard to connect via 3g"(Internet discovery enabled), it seemed Google adjusted their policy about their google server usage. This issue is planning to be fixed by our next update, however, it still needs some times to polish, please keep patience with us.
Anyway, if you still feel strongly about removing Splashtop Remote and get a refund, because it's totally controlled by Apple, please refer to the following info about the procedures to request a refund from Windows iTunes or Mac iTunes:
---
1. To begin the process of requesting a refund from the iTunes store, you will need to firstly open iTunes.
---
2. Navigate to your purchase history by clicking "Store" -> "View My Account" -> "Purchase History."
---
3. Inside your Purchase History page, please select "Report a Problem."
---
4. In the window that opened up to report your problem, please describe the reason for requesting a refund.
---
5. That's it! Apple Customer service should usually respond to you within 48 hours and let you know if your request has been granted.

Hi Jaff and others,
I have noticed some degradation of connectivity with 3G lately, but not nearly enough to consider abandoning Splashtop Remote Desktop Client. For those considering abandoning the app, of course it is your choice. But, I would like to chime in with this unsolicited advice. I would give the developers some time to try to respond to Google's "moving server target." I have tried so many other remote clients and so many of them have had much greater problems...and there was no "Jaff" to provide personal recommendations to your problems. Many of them were MUCH more expensive too. In addition, and again this is just my opinion, there is NO remote client that is easier to set up under normal conditions. That is not to disregard those of you having connectivity and set-up problems. Maybe the grass is greener somewhere else. But, maybe not. Best, Mr. Luigi
I'm using Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3 with the latest Splashtop Streamer (I just got this software the day before yesterday) on my computer, and I am using the Vizio 8" tablet with Android 3.2.1 and the lastest version of Splashtop Remote Desktop (NOT HD). I am signed into my gmail account on both devices. I works fine when I'm on my local network, but internet discovery doesn't work at all, the computer doesn't come up. Do I need the IP address and ports or something, and if so, what's the point of the 'internet discovery' ability then?
@Lou Parry,
Thanks for your kind understanding. We are always trying best to improve the usage experience for our customers, next update would improve this connectivity much and it's coming soon. Please keep patience with us!
@Christopher M. Allen,
Your issue is not from a pure Internet discovery enabled/disabled, there may have firewall block the connection, please try to disable all possible firewall on your router, Windows and the antivirus software you have installed to see if there's any difference. This link provides some our collections about firewall settings for different antivirus software could be a good reference.
