Why can I only connect through internet?

OS: Windows 7 64-bit SP1  running Splashtop Streamer 1.5.0.1

Asus Transformer TF101  Droid 3.1  Asus Build HMJ37.US_epad-8.4.4.5-20110527  Running Splashtop HD 1.9.6.5

Issue:  cannot connect through LAN, will only work with google account logged in.  I was able to use LAN connection in the past and it worked just fine.  Now, however, I am unable to use the system on my LAN connection. . .again if I log in to the google servers with my account, it works. . .but it's through an internet connection so it runs quite slow.

Steps tried:

1. reboot router / PC / Droid Tablet

2. Cleared app data for splashtop remote, and remote HD on droid tablet

3. uninstalled, and reinstalled app data on droid tablet

4. Disabled windows firewall

5. verified that firewalls are turned off on router

Hi Munktastic,

Could you check if IP addresses of PC and Tablet are in the same subnet ?

And you could also try to use your tablet ping pc  to if it is OK.

p.s. Q&A - Windows Client actually is about pc to pc remote control. So I will move your question to Q&A - Android Device. I will support you there.

Thanks!

Hi Munktastic,

Could you try to delete the profile and manually add it again to see if it is OK.

Thanks!

Delete the profile on which device?  PC or the tablet?

I have found the problem. . .to a degree.  I have created a new windows user account, and I am able to use the program correctly while the new windows user account is running.  My question is this:  Where is the splashtop streamer profile located on the windows side of things?  Evidently it's stored somewhere in the profile.  I've looked a little, but I haven't been able to find it.

I fixed the issue.  I went into the registry editor, and removed the entire splashtop key under  Computer>HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Splashtop Inc.  After I deleted the key, I just restarted the Splashtop Streamer, and then it walked me through creating a new profile.  It works just fine now.

Are you running windows?  If so, open up your Splashtop Streamer, click on Settings at the top, and then check the box next to 'Enable Internet Discovery' then click on the Google tab, and login with your gmail address and password.

Hi,

I am facing the same issue. I tried delting the key from registry and running set up. But not able to fix it.

From my Ipad , splashtop is not able to find my this particular laptop. It is able to find other computers in the LAN.

Can I only connect to my laptop from my own network? I'm not able to connect to my laptop if I'm in a different location and my laptops at home.
