In this topic we list some information we've collected which is related to fixing installation issues. Hopefully, one of the tips below can solve the problem for your particular case.
If an error occurs (or hang-up) during installation:
I. Click the Start button, click Control Panel, then click Administrative Tools in "classic view" — or, Performance and Maintenance and then Administrative Tools in "category view. "
II. Click Services. Find the service name "Windows Installer" and click that line so it's highlighted. The Status column will be blank if the service is not currently running.
III. If not running, there will be something like "Start the Service" on the left side of the screen — click it. That starts up the process on your system.
IV. Run the Splashtop Streamer installer again, and it should work!
If the installed Windows Streamer is v1.5.5.2 or above:
a. Find the folder named "{2EFEAD58-3311-4B2B-9D8A-8D663581D109}" in C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information or in C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information for Windows 64 bits. This is a hidden folder. You may need to enable the option "Show all files and folders" from Windows/Tool/Folder option if you can't find it.
b. Delete this folder manually, then un-install the Streamer from the Control Panel.
c. Install the latest Streamer, then un-install again to totally clear all Streamer files.
d. Re-install the latest Streamer again, and all steps are done.
If the installed Windows Streamer is v1.5.0.1 or below:
a. Find the folder named "{94A1911F-CD2F-4B9C-B171-2B43DCD213AA}" in C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information or in C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information for Windows 64 bits. This is a hidden folder. You may need to enable the option "Show all files and folders" from Windows/Tool/Folder option if you can't find it
b. Delete this folder manually, then un-install from the Control Panel.
c. Install the latest Streamer, then un-install again to totally clear all Streamer files.
d. Re-install the latest Streamer again, and all steps are done.
If you get error code 1152, this might be due to one of the following situations:
a. There is not enough disk space on the hard drive to which files are being extracted.
b. You don't have sufficient privileges to write files to TEMP file.
c. The downloaded files may be corrupted.
Based on the possibilities listed above, here are some suggested solutions:
1. Download the Streamer again, from:
http://www.splashtop.com/streamer/download?from=remotedownload
2. Free up some disk space wherever possible on the C drive (where the Splashtop Streamer is installed).
3. Try to disable User Account Control (UAC) before installing. Click on the following hyperlink to view an article about how to do this in Windows: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-user-account-control-uac-the-easy-way-on-windows-vista/)
4. Right-click on the installer file, select Run As... from the menu, and then in the dialog box, choose to run as Administrator in order to execute the installation.

If installation has finished but Splashtop Streamer cannot start:
We found that if a service process named Terminal Services is disabled, this would prevent the Splashtop Streamer from being launched. If it is disabled in your case, please enable it manually.
Note that the Terminal Services process exists only in XP Professional (not in XP Home). You can find the service as follows:
Still no luck? If none of the above solves the problem in your particular case, please describe your problem and also provide the following data. Are you using:
On the other hand, if you have encountered an installation issue not listed above, and have already found the solution, we invite you to let us know about it, so we can add it here for the benefit of other users. Thank you!

Hi,
I had installed Splashtop Streamer on my home pc WinXP successfully. I had also installed the FREE Splashtop Remote apps on my tablet, Asus Transformer TF101 successfully. At my home PC, I tried to download apps Splashtop Pro Apps for Android, it says my device (Asus TF101) already has this item installed. I cannot click the INSTALL button. Either I checkout or cancel to get away from this window page. The issues are:
1) Most times I log-in at my Asus tablet failed! Even though I am sure I typed in correct @gmail address and password. Streamer log-in at my PC is OKI! It even says: "You can now use your mobile device to connect to this computer".
2) If I managed to log-in at my Asus tablet, I can only see: (1) Your Computer and (2) Your Groups. And nothing else. I cannot connect or see my home PC while at home using wi-fi. My PC is using wired connection.
3) At my desk PC, I tried to download apps Splashtop Pro Apps for Android, it says my device (Asus TF101) already has this item installed. I cannot click the INSTALL button. Either I checkout or cancel to get away from the window page. Do I need to download this apps at my desk PC?
4) How do I connect to see my home PC? Is the free version does not allow you to connect to your PC? If no, is there a trial version? I need to know and be sure that it works before I make any purchases, if necessary. What is the correct apps to install?
Please advise the above matters. Thank you.
Regards,
Zainor
