This topic applies to Android devices only.
When you connect to your Streamer computer with an HD tablet device and Android v3.2 installed (such as Moto Xoom), you'll probably get disconnected every couple of minutes. Here are some things we have learned about this problem so far: (only on some routers like Belkin...)
The current work-around is to use a Static IP address, instead of a Dynamic IP address assigned by DHCP.
For information about how to configure settings on an Android device to get a Static IP address, please reference this topic: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/68989/~/motorola-xoom-wi-fi---set-static-ip-address
Concerning which IP address, Gateway, Subnet mask, DNS1, DNS2 should be input, it depends on your router. Here is some information about getting it from your PC if it connects to the same router as your tablet: http://portforward.com/networking/static-win7.htm
If you are experiencing frequent disconnections but the above does not apply to you or does not solve your problem, please let us know the details related to your situation.

Hey there! I have tried the things too, and I am a IT Technician and so I know a bit of IP, DNS, DHCP and so on. But no matter what I have done, I have still these annoying disconnects. I have a Samsung Galaxy S 2 with original Android 2.3.4 and a Computer Win 7 x64 Ultimate. PLEASE anyone solve these problem because Splashtop ist THE BEST Remote app for Android!! I will pay more than 20 $ for this app when it realy works!!!
Also get this prob..! Other remote apps are working perfectly, so the problem must be on splashtop app.. I have a Samsung Galaxy S 2 without branding or so on and also Android 2.3.4 My Computer Windows 7 x64 Pro. PLEASE HELP because Splashtop ist really THE BEST Remote app for Android!!
Hello, I just purchased Splashtop Remote HD for my new ASUS Transformer Prime. It got updated to Android 4.0 last night, so I'm certainly not expecting everything to be perfect. However, while the app works wonderfully for the most part.. I notice that I get disconnected from the app when I try to watch a movie or play music and leave my tablet alone for a minute or two. If I'm active on the app, doing things such as browsing the web or looking through folders trying to find something.. I stay connected just fine. I have already tried switching from DHCP to a static IP address but this has not helped. I also made sure my firewall wasn't blocking anything from Splashtop Remote HD. This is quite disappointing considering that the app otherwise works great. Any ideas on how I might fix this?
Hi all,
If you got a disconnection after couple of minutes connection, could you try to disable bluetooth function on tablet/phone and try again? We are actively working on this issue and need your feedback.
I'm on the Razr running gingerbread and get repeated connects/disconnects when attempting to connect to a puter signed up for the auto internet locate. If I type in my IP of the router and use DMZ, I get a connection without any trouble. Of course, I don't have a wan static IP so this will be an issue. I'd love to use the internet locate feature, but it seems to only work if I'm on a wifi network. The 3/4G radio just drops out otherwise.
i loose connection too, on ICS Transformer Prime, with the "original" i baught and also with the version which comes along with the transformer prime.
I Tried everything, fixed ip, changed ports, uninstalled a couple of times and installed it, happens with my wok station also with my laptop. So at the moment this software is not useful at all.
This fix does not work for me. Do we know if they are still working on the disconnect problem, or have they given up?
Hi all,
We recently get a disconnection issue on Transformer Prime running ICS, our engineering is fixing it, please stay tuned.
I also have a Transformer Prime and I am also having this problem. Any word on the progress on this fix?
I double checked, and I do have the latest version of Splashtop HD. The ABOUT page tells me I am running version 1.9.8.6 r17597 . I have set up my Prime to use a Static IP on my wireless connection and I still get disconnected fairly often, even when I am 1 foot away from my router, showing full signal strength.
Hi,
We just released Splashtop Remote Desktop HD for Android v1.9.8.6, please try this update for your disconnect issue caused by Android 4.0(ICS) and share us your result.
Thanks!
Has this fix made it into the non-HD version for smartphones? I'm currently on version 1.6.6.1 and am experiencing frequent disconnects.
