Remember to upgrade your Streamer! It's really a problem that, the streamer didn't notice the user to update, I think that's why people have this kind of questions.

Same thing happens for me. I installed last week the streamer on my win7 computer I'm trying to access. No problem accessing with iphone and ipad, but the splashtop remote i just bought for my mac will not access it (Mac OS X Ver. 10.6.8m Macbook Pro, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo). I'm using Internet Discovery. Thanks.

I am currently trying to connect my imac (at home) to my imac (at work). it shows up as available via internet discovery, but when I click to connect it says "Cannot connect to your computer. Your computer is connected to another Splashtop Remote session."
I try the other direction during my office hours and get the same message. However, I am typically able to connect via my ipad or iphone to either, and the imac at work can connect to a pc in the office. All apps up to date, correctly signed in, etc.
I had this same problem. I fixed it by going to Splashtop Remote Preferences and turned OFF "Enable automatic CPU throttling".

For your use case, what you need is a Wake-on-Lan function.

similar problem! Still having the same problem like others. Ipad/iphone work fine but not on ANY of my macbook pro or iMac. All softwares are up to date. iMac running 10.7.2
and Macbook Pro running 10.6. None of them worked. here is the log file for the iMac. Please solve the problem. I have already paid for the application and it has never worked.
Just updated to Remote for Mac 1.1. Streamer is also current. No joy connecting from Mac Air w/ Lion to PC via Internet Discovery. Remote shows PCs but times out when attempting to connect. Message: "Cannot connect to your computer".
I'm having the same issue. I'm trying to connect to a Win7(x64) PC. I've tested an iPad2, ASUS Transformer (Honeycomb), HTC Evo (Android 2.3), and MacBook Air. All connect perfectly fine except for the MacBook Air (10.7 Lion)
The Air sometimes connects if on the same LAN, but never outside of it. I was working correctly before what I believe is now the last 2 updates. I've attached my log file.
Add another disgruntled mac customer! this issue has obviously been present for some time without resolution. I can connect Mac Book Pro to imac on LAN easy. Also can connect iphone to these 2 and my PC at work over internet. But can't connect either mac to work PC over internet. All apps current. What's the story, or how can we get refund?!!

Hi Charley,
I too am having this problem when trying to connect from my work Mac to my home PC.
I took a look at the traffic going across my home router and found that when I tried connecting with the mac client, my home PC tried to respond to my work mac's INTERNAL IP address. This, obviously, fails since my home network has no idea how to get to my work's internal network normally. I connected my home PC to work via a VPN tunnel and was able to connect to connect my work Mac to my home PC.
It looks like the Mac client is feeding the wrong information to the PC streamer as to how to get back to it. Please forward this on to your engineering department.
Thanks,
Brian
P.S. I'll post this in a few more places to make sure someone sees it.

Dear Brian:
Many thanks for your kind observation on this issue and we understand what it seems to be your home PC trying to respond to your work Mac's internal IP address.
There is actually a lot more complexity involved in our implementation to facilitate cross firewall connectivity through the Internet.
This particular observation is just one of the many types of connecting approaches attempted (in case both the client and host are within the same physical network with different subnet IP address).

So is the bottom line that Splastop does not work on OSx 10.7 ?
February 08, 2012 17:50
JustynR
That's pretty much it...
I JUST tested it... checked for an update....
Does not work on WIFI, but it still works if I am tethered.
Am very disappointed, not just that it doesn't work, but for the lack of answers... ie. "we think we know what the problem is, we're working on it"... "sorry" or so on...
I know it isn't a lot of money, but we've all still thrown away at least 10 bucks... Is that all it takes? I can post an app that says it does something... it doesn't and I can just sit an collect?
So far, no updates, not much for answers, and NO refund...
This was reported in September of 2011 - it will soon be 6 months since it was reported....
I don't mean to be offensive, but just very frustrated here... like most companies now, we're on a fixed budget, now I have to request a demo for every piece of software before I get approval on it for purchase (even if it's only $10) as this has soured the company's view on what they call "internet software"
I think it is very safe to say: DO NOT BUY!

Dear Sir,
I have the same problem here, I bought splashtop remote for all my iphone, ipad, android phone and tablet, to remote my window 7 pc at home, and it all work fine. But one month ago, I also bought remote desktop for my imac and install at my office, I have to say that it did show up the window desktop screen at my home for one second, yes! just one second, like a flash! Then I will never work again until now. Please have it fix asap! I had a good time using it on all my other device, I also want to enjoy using it on my mac. Thanks so much!
p.s. I have attached the log for your investigation.
Please kindly update your Splashtop app for Mac to the latest version v1.2.2.
In any case, if you still experience issues of connectivity through Internet after upgrading to v1.2.2, you can try to run the app in 32bit mode.
To run Splashtop app in 32bit mode, follow these steps:
- Open Finder. - Go to Applications - Search "Splashtop Remote Desktop" app and right click on it - Select "Get info" - Search "Open in 32-bit mode" and check it - Close the info window - Run Splashtop Remote and try to connect the streamer
Hope the lastest version and 32-bit mode could help fixing your connectivity problems.

@C R,
Please confirm your firewall on Air has been disabled. Is there any antivirus software installed in your Air, like DoorStop or VirrusBarrier?
To those of you still having problems, hang in there. I was having no luck until latest remote desktop upgrade on my Mac Book Pro. This completely solved my internet connection issues and the remote desktop is working great on all my devices now. Has revolutionized my work schedule. There are obviously several different issues affecting connectivity. For me though, the wait was worth it. Now very pleased customer. Good luck all.

Dear Sir,
I have the same problem here, I bought splashtop remote for all my iphone, ipad, android phone and tablet, to remote my window 7 pc at home, and it all work fine.
Best regards,
Kwan
Dear valued customers:
Please kindly update your Splashtop app for Mac to the latest version v1.2.2.
In any case, if you still experience issues of connectivity through Internet after upgrading to v1.2.2, you can try to run the app in 32bit mode.
To run Splashtop app in 32bit mode, follow these steps:
- Open Finder.
- Go to Applications
- Search "Splashtop Remote Desktop" app and right click on it
- Select "Get info"
- Search "Open in 32-bit mode" and check it
- Close the info window
- Run Splashtop Remote and try to connect the streamer
Hope the lastest version and 32-bit mode could help fixing your connectivity problems.
Best regards,
Splashtop Support Team
same here.... well, obviously, it can't connect trough a firewall that is more than non existent. I think it would be honest report in the description "works only in lan, internet discovery is under development"
Actually, I just see the issue is open from september 2011 ! that's enough to be angry. Specify it in the description, otherwise you are selling something that not correspond.
@francesco ,
Sorry to confuse you. This issue should be able to be fixed by the Splashtop comment on 14 March 2012. Please have a try and share us your result, we'll try best to help you solving it if you still have problem on conectivity.
sorry, I didn't see that answer. It actually works for me. I've been able to connect a pair of times after a few tries. I guess that's good.
Thank you for your assistance.
After changing to 32 bit I was able to log in.
However, on my subsequent attempts, I am able to connect but the screen is black out. Please advise.
Still no dice, even after enabling 32-bit mode. Internet discovery works on my iPad, and Android phone, but the Mac app sees nothing - no computers at all in my list, even though Google is logged in successfully. Please help!!
This did NOT work for me. I am running the Mac app in 32-bit mode on my Macbook Air, but still it cannot see my office iMac. Internet discovery is enabled, and Google is successfully logged in, but the list of computers is blank. The progress indicator just spins around and around, and finds nothing.
I have the iPad app, the Windows desktop app and an Android phone that are all using Internet Discovery and the same gmail account and they see the remote iMac fine, but the Air cannot see the iMac at all! I have uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted, and everything. Please help!!
@C R,
Please confirm your firewall on Air has been disabled.

The switch to 32-bit mode worked for me, I can now login to me Win 7 Work computer from my MacBook.
