I have the same problem. It seems to connect for a second (icon in task bar turns blue for a sec and says webOS connected), but then disconnects and give me an error that says can not connect to remote computer.

Hi all,
Most of connection fail issues caused by firewall, please check this link first to know how to make a basic connection within a local network:
TP has been restarted a few times - app removed and downloaded again - security code has been set/reset a few times on streamer - firewall is completely turned off - none of this fixed the issue.

Ok found a solution for my TP not connecting. Silly as it sounds it was the audio format was set to high. Before update it would just give me a warning, which still shows up, but now it will not allow it to connect. Lower your audio to 16 bit, 48000Hz (Dvd Quality) and try an see if it will connect.

not working for me Bernie. I don't have any audio selected at all - i'm running the streamer on a server that doesn't have any audio configured.

Dave not having any audio is probably the problem. Over at pre central someone had a similar issue and enabled the audio and now his tp is connecting. Something worth trying, hope it helps.

Thanks Bernie. I will give that a try. It was working fine until the update which bugs me. Not to mention that it's free now. I want a refund!

I also can not connect since the recent update. I have Splashtop for Android as well and it connects fine to the same PC. Ever since the update, I get to the black screen with the spinning circle and it will NEVER connect. I agree Dave, they need to get this corrected right away because its useless right now.

Hi All,
We recently released version 1.0.5 to improve scrolling and the security code issue mentioned above. Thanks for your feedback and patience!
Improved scrolling gesture.
Resolved the issue of some Security Code combinations cannot connect to Splashtop Streamer.
Resolved the issue of customized Port number cannot be saved.
Support connection to Splashtop Streamer using domain name address.
For issues with WebOS 3.0.4, a work around is to change the audio settings to 16 bit, 48000Hz.on Streamer computer (no audio device configured or wrong audio configurations may cause connection fail) We are investigating the new issue with 3.0.4.

Thanks for the update Jeff. I'm running the streamer on a Dell PowerEdge server that does NOT have any audio hardware. It worked before the update to webOS 3.0.4 so I'm hoping you can get it working again. Thanks again for the update!

Dave,
I'm having the same issue and hope that Splashtop fixes it soon, I reported it in an e-mail with them. As a temporary fix, I downloaded a virtual audio device for the server (30 day trial) and that fixed the problem. So now they have a 30 day countdown to fix it!
Other bugs I've noticed: Gmail passwords cannot have a space in them, or it won't authenticate. Hosts with ATI Graphics will eventually crash DWM.exe and force Aero to close (very annoying). Noted one about required to have sound device.

I tried these things, as well as changing the audio setting to DVD quality and its not helping my touchpad. I can only connect once if i lose that connection and I try to connect again, it try to connect and the circle keeps on going forever or it just tells me that I can't connect.
BTW, its only with my touchpad because my Iphone, and Evo 3D connect perfectly.
