Windows 7 64. Touchpad 32gb. Both devices on same home network.
Installed the App. Installed Splashtop Streamer on the laptop. Run streamer, input code. HP app never sees the computer. Added computer manually to correct address. Cannot connect.
Disabled McAfee Firewall. Still cannot connect.
Open router and forwarded the three ports to the computer ip address. Still cannot connect.
With McAfee disabled (and Windows Firewall not running), the block has to be with the router I think, but I have no idea what I have to do to make it work.
Ideas?

I should also note that with an iPad I use Teamviewer and had to make no changes to the firewall or the router. Implies to me either the Splashtop Touchpad app has issues OR Splashtop is connecting very differently.
Hi Rick,
Sorry for late response. Here are some suggestions about firewall settings on your computer:
1. disable the firewall on win7, then also add another firewall policy for opening ports 6783~6785, which are used by Splashtop Remote by default.
Procedure: Open the Windows Start Menu, open the All Programs list, type "firewall," access the advanced firewall settings. Go to Inbound Connection, click "New Rules" in the right panel, select Port, click Next, select TCP, then type 6783-6785.
2. disable firewall on McAfee, then manually add the following files in its trusted list:
-DataProxy.exe
-inputserv.exe (only necessary for Splashtop Remote Touchpad)
-spupnp.exe
-SRFeature.exe
-SRLogin.exe
-SRServer.exe
BTW, please enable the Internet discovery feature if you want a remote connection from different networks, here is the link for further instructions:

First, I was surprised at this taking 24 days to get a response.
Here's the reality. I tried your product from my Touchpad, and it doesn't connect. I removed McAfee and switched to Microsoft Security Essentials, which has no firewall. I disabled Windows Firewall. I forwarded the ports on the router to my computer's address, and that doesn't work. As I said, Teamviewer on the iPad works without doing anything...
If your support normally takes 3 1/2 weeks...
I'm happy to work with someone to get this running and then post the method all over the place.
I also tried updating Splashtop Streamer to 1.6.5.3, but it still doesn't work (I have Windows 7 64 bit).
I assume you also meant to add in the above directions (which don't work), when you're done changing the settings, re-enable the firewall...
I also used GRC's ShieldsUp! to check ports, and 6783 is listed as OPEN. I also installed your product on a Windows XP machine, and it also doesn't work. So it's either a router setting or a Windows firewall setting, but I've done what you suggested and no luck. Or, as some suggest, it's the audio drivers...
Yes, I NOW have 3.0.4. However, when I initially contacted you I did not, since it just came out, and it didn't work then. I added the files to the MSE list, but no go.
I have Streamer 1.6.5.3 as I noted above.
My audio was configured at 16bit, 44100. I changed it to 16bit, 44000 and it still doesn't work.
I find it really interesting that I had to do nothing to get TeamViewer to work on the iPad, but I want to get this working on the Touchpad.
@Rick,
Have you tried to enable Internet discovery feature with a gmail login on both TouchPad and Streamer sides to see if there's difference?

No, I hadn't. I was hoping to not have to give your application access to my Google info. So I did just try that option, and it took maybe 1/2 dozen tries to get logged in from Splashtop Streamer. Once I did that, I went to the application on the Touchpad and couldn't get logged in despite trying a dozen times. I have 2-step verification on, so I went and generated a password for the app (on both) and it still doesn't work.
Since I got rid of my iPad, I now want access via the Touchpad more than ever.
@Rick,
Would you mind to apply another new gmail account with a simple password for Splashtop Remote used only? In our tests, if the network signal stable, we are easy to login gmail with both simple and 2-step verification. This is our test gmail account, you can have a try if you can login it from Streamer and TouchPad with it.
ID: strst.t01@gmail.com
password: let'sgo!
If you are still hard to login with our test account in your environment, that should have another reason such as unstable wifi signal.
This morning I started to do the test you suggested with your gmail account, but was startled to see that the Touchpad could see my computer for the first time ever. This is WITHOUT any gmail logon info... However, after asking for the code it said "Connecting to your computer" forever....
So I tried your gmail solution. This allowed me to log in on both devices, which shows that the log in problem is not due to an unstable wifi signal (my signal is fine), but is likely due to 2step verification. In trying again with my own gmail account, I could log in on the PC but not the Touchpad.
After that, I again tried the regular method, expecting it not to work, but it did work. So, I tried it again, and it worked again.
HOWEVER, when I go back into preferences, I keep seeing that I'm logged in with YOUR gmail on the Touchpad, despite both using mine after that AND then blanking the fields out... I've signed out, tried again, and it comes back signed in again.... Sometimes it logs in too, which I do NOT want to do. How do I remove it? Do I have to reinstall the app on the Touchpad? This is pretty crazy that it keeps putting the info back and logging in.
I find that when I try the app, sometimes it connects and sometimes it just spins after asking for the code, it's not reliable. And I'd like to remove your login info totally - but putting in xxx and yyy didn't resolve it, it reappears next times it is open. I got it to say EXAMPLE also, and that didn't work either.
@Ricky,
2-step verification password login fail on TP is a known issue and we are fixing it.
Another issue "sometimes auto login previous gamil" also happened in our test lab, our engineering is also looking at it.
Thanks for your great feedback.
Before the new update released, you may apply another gmail account with a simple password and used on Splashtop Remote only to be a workaround.
We are sorry about this inconvenience.
Dear valued customers!!

Best regards,

I can now connect my TP to my computer after several hours of trial and error. I did all the things in the other post such as adding the allow application tables for MS Security essentials including the PORTs that are allowed. No luck, still unable to connect. I then decided to see if my router has a fire wall that needs to be changed. I logged into my router and reviewed all the settings including the firewall settings. No changes were needed, however, there are a lot of routers in my neighborhood that were using the same channel my router uses so I changed it to channel 11 and saved my changes. Still no connection to the TP. I then rebooted the TP activated the Splashtop App and Voila, TP connected immediately to my PC. The point I am trying to make is that even though router changes should not need to be made. I most definitely had to make a change (any change) and save it before I could connect. Now for the bad news, the next day my TP again would not connect. I once again logged into my router and did a "router reboot", takes 2 minutes. Voila, my TP immediately reconnected. I DID NOT have to reboot the TP. Based om my experience with this app I would suggest the following:
1. Make the changes required to you virus protection software: a)Find the table that allows the Splashtop services and Ports through the fire wall.
2. Do a power reset (unplug and plug back in) on the router. Wait at least 120 seconds before you try to connect to your PC from the TP. If this does not work, loginto your router and change the broadcast channel and the save the changes, then reboot your router from the router software.
3. Do a "Device Reboot" on your TP or shut down the TP and restart it.
4. Then launch the Splahpoint App. - Hopefully you can now connect.
Please understand I am not being critical of the Splashpoint software. There are hundreds of then configurations that this software must deal with and just for the TP. My configuration is as follows:
GIGABYTE GS41M-ES2l MB
Windows7/64
Intel Q8400 Processor
1.0 Terra bytes HD
4GB DDR2 Memory
32" HD HDMI Video
MS Security Essentials Virus/Firewall Protection
Thanks to Splashpoint Support for the all the other post and to all the other customers who have taken the time to work out the process. I LOVE the software once I got it working for me. I have been able to get both the LAN and WAN connection work on my TP. But not at the same time? Not sure what this is about but I am a happy customer and glad I bought the App and would recommend it to anyone who has adequate technical skills and patience to work through your specific process.
