Hi, there is a system limitation (for some virtual keyboard), so please use your phone in portrait mode when input.

In portrait mode, the keyboard still doesn't work.

Same here.  Though, the odd thing is that if I hit back on my tablet to close the keyboard after every letter it works.  Same on my phone and tablet, both running CM7

I am having the same problem with my tablet. It was working a week or so ago but now it does not recognize the keystrokes that are inputted. I am also using it in portrait mode and it still does not work. It does however work on my droid incredible though. 

I am having the same issue on Asus Transformer. Special keys (backspace/enter) work, others don't. When I push back, the last key press only will show up wherever I was trying to type. Autocomplete keyboards seem to work if  you choose a suggested word. Please fix, very annoying.

There is no improvement for me since only the HD version was updated not the regular version

Just bought the app for my Android Vizio tablet running Android 2.2 and the keystrokes do not go through to the host. Tried in portrait mode and did not work either.

I have keyboard problems with using splashtop remote v1.9.8.4 r14067 on my ASUS Transformer TF101.

Key presses don't register at all when used with the SwiftKey X Tablet keyboard and Asus English (US) Keyboard. However keypresses do register when using the English (US) keyboard. it was working well with the swiftkey keyboard before a recent update.

Please resolve this quickly. its frustrating having to change keyboard all the time.

We can reproduce the problem with Swiftkey, but can' t reproduce it with Asus English(US) keyboard.

Do you use onscreen keyboard or docking keyboard?  Does every key can't be input with ASUS English (US) keyboard?

Where do you input in windows， browser or word file?

I am having the same problem, and I have version 1.6.0.5, android phone to a IMac, with the swiftkey, i have also tried the default keyboard, both have problems on my Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, This has been ongoing for a long time now, and I am very disappointed, please fix it now, I have tried everything, 

i just purchased a Nook color and when I'm on Splashtop I don't have keyboard access so I can't work remotely on my PC. Am I doing something wrong? Where's the keyboard?

New user as of today.  Have latest versions of Splashtop.  HTC Evo 4G, OS 2.3.3.  Stock keyboard works but my preferred keyboard Swiftkey X 2.2.0.77 does not.  Only typing 1 key and hit back button works, which is not a good work-around.

Im running the latest vesion of Splashtop 1.6.5.6 on a stock Motorola Photon, stock keyboard does not work or swiftkey. Can you please update us on the status of this issue? Thanks

i am having the same problem with swiftkey

although this is not ideal in any way, i found that typing one character and pressing space will type the character that you want and then you just have to hit backspace to get back to it.

I own this on the touchpad and on android.  The touchpad keyboarding works flawlessly.  The android version sucks as far as keyboarding goes.

It seems that the author has asked which keyboard we are using.  This is a good question for debugging purposes but is a cop out if he is looking for excuses.

This has been ongoing with this product for some time now, and there seems to be no resolution in sight.

Which keyboard you use shouldnt matter.  I have used this on every one of my android devices with stock and replacement keyboards.  Nothing seems to make a difference.  Xoom, nook color, acer a tab 500, htc evo 4g, motorola triumph, all fail.  Please fix this.  And fix the resolution issues that keep the start menu from displaying properly.

The keyboard can't input in the horizontal screen for phone version is a limitation for android 2.X . As a workround,please try to input in portrait mode.

We have known issues with the keyboard which use "prediction mode"", such Swiftkey X. As a workround is disable "prediction mode"" or change to other keyboard.

The above two problem isn't related with which device you used. 

If you have problem with other keyboard.  please provide more information about the keyboard and language.

I have a Kindle Fire and can not make the virtual keyboard come up to edit or create Word or Excel documents. The magifier looking tab should bring it up so that files on my computer can be worked on.  Right?

@David, You need to press the keyboard icon on the lower right corner to bring up the keyoard.

I also have the xperia play, and have the same problem with inputting text, only " ,?- " keys work will there be a fix to this problem soon?

Splashtop no longer can connect to the streamer via 3G

For me changing to a keyboard without suggest/ auto complete function helped.

Doesnt work for crap in ICS on a galaxy tablet either so try again...

Running Motorola Xoom ICS and the "Hacker's Keyboard" gives no input for keyboard, even with all suggestion/prediction turned off.  I switched back to the standard ICS keyboard and turned off those same settings and it works fine.

One interesting thing - when I use my bluetooth keyboard, it does a strange thing trying to use the Sshift key (mistake left in on purpose)... when I  Ccapitalize Lletters it Ssends the letter twice, once capped and once not.  It's not consistent though... Eeven in Typing this Message it Ddid not Ddo It Occasionally. 

5 months later still having issues on my ASUS Transformer.

@C. Hatton Humphrey - I have the same issue with the capitalization. I've found that mine is caused by releasing the shift key before the letter key. If I let go of shift first, I get the double. If I let go of the letter key first, then I don't get the double letter. Lame.

Can't believe these errors are still lingering for this app.

I have the same issue when using the software keyboard and hardware keyboards.  The software keyboard will only enter one letter at a time by bring the keyboard up, typing the letter, and then minimizing the keyboard.  If I input more than one letter/number at a time it not only won't show the letter but will sometimes result in the connection dropping.  When using the hardware keyboards (bluetooth AND USB connections) the left shift key does the double letter, one capitalized and one not, thing.

I see from the above thread that the issue with Swiftkey X has been noticed and that Splashtop are working on a fix. I just installed this excellent piece of software and am very satisfied with it. But, I have the same problems as many others using Swiftkey, I am running a Samsung Galaxy SII with ICS. When will this issue be fixed? Status?

Some user replied that by upgrading to Swiftkey 3, the tryping issue has been fixed.Please try  it.

Same with Galaxy 10.1 tablet, Hacker's keyboard v1.31, Splashtop HD v 1.9.9.5. Typing space (or some other) adds all letters that were typed till then. Splashtop works fine with "native" keyboard.

I'm using a FR keyboard input but the keyboard here is us, is there a way to change the input?

also when i use the virtual keyboard, everthing is melted
