"Hide remote mouse" grayed out

Hello,

Yesterday I installed the streamer on my desktop pc and the remote desktop software on my netbook (samsung nc10). It worked wonderfully! I was truly enjoying using my desktop pc on my netbook! But today I connected again with the netbook, and strangely, the hide remote mouse function was unavailable (it worked ok yesterday). I really would love to hide the remote cursor! I tried re-installing the apps on both computers and disabling my firewall (f-secure). Both computers are running windows 7 premium. Please help!

Hi Antti,

Do you use the "Internet discovery" feature to connect your desktop PC?

Hide remote mouse may be unavailable when you connect your PC from outside. It depends on the network.

Hi there!

No, the "internet discovery" feature is turned off. The computers are in the same LAN. I'll have to try playing with my network settings, then..

Still can't figure this one out. I tried setting up port forwarding, no luck.

Hi,

I had a similiar problem linking to my sisters pc (ie. not the same network), when previously I could hide the remote mouse, it seemed that suddenly I couldn't . After reading your post above I tried a few things and found that if I connect and then have to login for first use (ie. from shut down/ restart) - then the "remote mouse" option is greyed, if the pc was already logged in or even locked, then the option is enabled,. If I have to login, I just immediately disconnect and then reconnect and the option is again available.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I'm using the Android App on a Galaxy Tab 10.1, plugged to a Windows 64 bits computer, with a mouse and a physical keyboard (bluetooth).

My problem is : I don't see the option to hide the remote mouse pointer (so I see two mice, one trailing the other).

@Christophe,

The android app doesn't support the feature for external mouse.
