Each time you start Splashtop Remote on your iPad, it will automatically scan your local network, and list the available computers it found.  Usually, you can simply select a computer from that list.

You can also specify connection settings for a computer by hand.  To do that, start by tapping the Add Computer button  add-computer-icon-(plus-sign).png in the Title Bar of the Splashtop Remote screen on your iPad.  This opens the Add a Computer screen with the following options:

Add-a-Computer-with-keyboard-500.png

  • Computer Name - this can be any name that helps you remember this computer.
  • IP address - the IP address is displayed in the Status tab of the Splashtop Remote Streamer application on your computer, and must be accessible from your iPad.
  • Security Code - the same security code you entered in the Splashtop Remote Streamer application.  If you do not enter it in this field, you will need to enter it every time you connect.
  • Advanced:
    • Port number - the port number is pre-filled in the Network tab of the desktop application. Note that Splashtop Remote Streamer reserves three consecutive TCP port numbers, starting with the specified one. Normally, you do not need to change it, unless you happen to have other programs that are already using any of these ports.
    • Resolution - we recommend using the iPad native 1024 x 768. If your computer does not support it, you can choose 800 x 600, or can opt to use the remote computer's native screen resolution setting.

Whenever I added my computer as above, successfully connected and then ended the session, at the next time I use splash remote, I cannot find my computer on the list. I have to repeat the setting, it's quite annoying.

It may be that your PC receives a different IP address every time you turn off the PC. Unfortunately, you cannot just give it your computer's name and have it find it.

I already follow every step and instructions, very simple and easy to follow at the first time but ended with nothing except I already paid the apps! Really dissapointing!

Finally it works after disabled the personal firewal setting. Checking on this setting must be notified in the set up instruction not in FAQ or problems support

At least you got it working after 13 minutes... I've had this app for almost a week!

if the setting is not being saved, then it sounds like poor programming... not accounting for the variables of the end user needs...  Can you say LogMeIn??

@Hoon,

Splashtop 2 needs a Splashtop account login in both ipad and Streamer, then ipad can automatically list all computers logged in with the same Spalshtop account. Please check this link for how to create a Splashtop account.

The feature to add a new profile is no longer supported by Splashtop v2.0.0.4.
