^ this.
It would be very nice if i could use my bluetooth Keyboard instead of the on-screen keyboard.

Right now bluetooth keyboard works only with a-z + space + enter keys. It would be nice to add at least the following:
arrows keys
ctr+z, ctlr+x, ctrl+v
ctrl, alt, windows keys mapped to control option command.
This feature is a must for me without it using your application will be really hard :/

I could not get my bluetooth keyboard to work at all in the Splashtop environment... I would love it if they added this support because I am using it to surf flash pages and even play some games on my iPad so would be a great feature to add keyboard support fully.

I just purchased Splashtop. It is by far the best remote app I have have used. This app is revolutionary in making the iPad as powerful as a desktop PC. This is what cloud computing is all about.
I use the Apple Bluetooth keyboard. I too can NOT get my bluetooth keyboard to work at all in the Splashtop enviroment.
Please Please make support for the standard Apple bluetooth keyboard possible.
Can you also make the SpashTop Remote program work as a service in the Windows 7 environment?

Update
Apple BT Keyboard works with limitations if keyboard is enabled in Splashtop environment (where you only see function and direction keys). I can use Windows apps like Word or Notepad. In Lord of the rings Online, I am only able to log in and type in the chat box. Direction keys or clicking on a number key with an associated action does not work. Though I did catch it sporadically working; One instance, the spacebar worked and causing my avatar to jump or clicking on a number triggered an action. I could not repeat this.

Here's another vote for Bluetooth support. As good as Splashtop is, there's no substitute for a real keyboard when serious work needs to be done on the remote computer.

I got my Keyboard to sync in and work after a few tries but for playing a game having to hold down a key doesn't work. It actually sticks down and my character goes nuts and I cant stop him from going forward lol. If this were to work better I would love it.

Have the bluetooth keyboard and it works ok. 2 suggestions though:
1. The keyboard doesn't work if a VM machine is run on the splashtop remote machine (doesn't work in the VM).
2. The keyboard is automatically hidden when the BT keyboard is on, but it would be nice to have the option to have the additional buttons bar to be hidden or not under certain circumstances.

Hello, I am a visually impaired person who mostly navigates through a computer with a screen magnifier, like Zoom Text. I also have experience of using screen readers, like SAToGo, JAWS, and VoiceOver my iPad.
I have a client that is totally blind and uses a screen reader called Windows Eyes on her PC and uses VoiceOver on her iPad.
I have tried out some screen readers that are installed on my computer, but running it through Splashtop Remote on my iPad.
The screen readers would work well if the arrow keys on my Apple Bluetooth Keyboard worked. The tab, enter, space, shift keys work, but not the arrow keys. This is neccessary for my client to navigate through her computer when she is traveling. (3G Model)
I ask you to please make this neccessary correction happen in the next update or two, as many people would benifit from this.
Thanks,

question re: "Apple BT Keyboard works with limitations if keyboard is enabled in Splashtop environment Apple BT Keyboard works with limitations if keyboard is enabled in Splashtop environment" ... how do you mean keyboard is enabled? At the host, or on the iPad - or do you mean that the keyboard display has to be enabled on the iPad?
Although my Apple BT keyboard works with the iPad, I haven't been able to get it working in splashtop (although, it does work quite well in Mocha RDP)

I have just purchased Splashtop for my iPad 2 and it is the best remote desktop client I have used yet. With one exception, it's missing full support for the Apple Bluetooth keyboard. When connecting to the MacOSX streamer (version 1.4.5.3), all the keys on the BT keyboard appear to respond correctly except for, most notably, the arrow keys and the Apple Command key (possibly fn, control, alt, and the remaining function keys as well). As a developer myself I work with a great deal of text editors (like TextMate on the Mac), where Hot-Key access and cursor key movement as *essential* to get anything done. Please address full support for the Apple Bluetooth keyboard in your great product as soon as possible, as it is really needed by many of us out there. Thanks!

I'm a developer trying to write code in an IDE running on my remote machine, and without support for the arrow, control, and F1-12 keys on my Bluetooth keyboard, effective development is almost impossible. Please implement this feature as soon as possible.

I'd also like to add that shift+tab seems to toggle the hotbar; but this key combination is commonly used in text editors to reduce indention level (outdent), or to move focus to the previous item (tab back). Please make this behave as expected; maybe you could use the command key since this has no use on Windows.

Just hoping this adds speed to the update...Arrow keys work in some apps when using Splashtop, but not my IDE (eclipse). I can use the on-screen arrow keys, but really want to ditch carrying my laptop.
Not sure any of the other VNCs work, this has done well and this is (so far) my only complaint. I'm using a logitech BT keyboard, not sure it's much different than the apple one...just came with a case/stand :)

BT keyboard support needs serious improvement! add F keys support, keys combination (alt+... ctrl+... etc.), win key, alt+tab, shift+tab, and more.

So the most recent update says, "improved bluetooth keyboard". But I'm not seeing any difference. Still need to hit the keyboard icon at the bottm of the screen for the bluetooth keyboard to be noticed at all, still limited to just basic keys - no support for ctrl, alt, etc. At least, not that I can see. Am I missing something? What exactly was improved? Don't get me wrong - great app, but I was really looking forward to the "improved bluetooth keyboard support" in the update.

Just wanted to add my vote. Splashtop is an amazing product and works amazing 99% of the time. I was really looking forward to my bluetooth keyboard with this app but an sorely dissapointed to see the lack of support. Please add the functionallity of a full keyboard (alt, shift, cmd, and the full 1-9) and add a "game mode" if needed to avoid the lack of a key repeater if necessary (so holding wasd doesn't just more one step).

hi i have not read too many threads but i just wanted to give some helpful tips to use your Ziggfolio on splashtop
at first it was very confusing but to use this keyboard on splashtop you will need to act as though you were bringing up the keyboard without using zigg keyboard you should see the escape, alt, shift button tabs appear on your ipad and this will enable you to use your new Ziggfolio for ipad2 and ipad3 i do not know if this will work for ipad 3 since i have the ipad 2 but my hopes is that this will help someone who is lost like i was!

Hi all,
Thanks T's sharing.
In our tests, most brands of BT keyboards(for iPad) should be compatible in Spalshtop Remote app. The most confused point is user need to enable keyboard by tapping the small keyboard icon on lower right corner before typing with BT keyboard.

Hi Jaff,
I think you are confused about our need.
As you said we can type in by tapping small button for keyboard enabling button at the right bottom corner.
But we want to use combinations, such as Cmd+a(for select all) or Cmd+z(for undo).
So far if we want to make combination, we have to tab cmd button on the bottom of the screen and type a on the keyboard for select all.
we want to make combinations ONLY on the keyboard, not screen tapping and keyboard typing.
Do you understand??

Yes it would!
Especially after more than two years, at least three updates and 66 "likes" / requests....!
I would like to know why not. Is it that difficult? or is it that the you (devs and/or mkt)
don't see the necessity of this?
I really would like to have these questions awnsered.
Thank you.

Hi all,
Thanks for all your feedback and requrests.
Please check this link for more info about BT kbd support in current Splashtop 2.
If you use a BT keyboard in a word processor like MS Word, the following key combinations are supported.
1. cmd+c (cmd=Ctrlif used in Windows)
2. cmd+v
3. cmd+x
4. cmd+a
5. arrow_keys
6. cmd+arrow_keys
7. option+arrow_keys
8. shift+arrow_keys
9. shift+cmd+arrow_keys
10. shift+option+arrow_keys
Actually, there're limitations from Apple to limit app developers to support more complicated combination keys. Anyway, we are always seeking better solutions for this issue.
