I would like a splashtop server for Linux
i love the windows product, and would love to see a linux version, as my main pc is linux based
agreed, I would definitely like a linux server product, I only run linux at home and just purchased the ipad software, unfortunately its not working.
It's fault to complete.
I almost bought it but thought I would check if it supported Ubuntu first, glad I did.
I would also like to chime in for a linux streamer app.
Another vote for an ubuntu verison please :D
I'm running ubunto as a sideloading OS on an android tablet which I have to go into via vnc, splashtop would be much better as it usually seems a lot quicker than standard VNC connections.
hmm also bought it a little premature, in hope of a Linux Streamer.
Definitely should make a streamer for Linux.
A Linux streamer is a must since all my computers run on Linux
surprised to find that there isn't one, since it all started as a linux distro, right?
I want it since Linux runs minecraft 10,0000 times better than windows.
Linux is my main system, I was hoping to use Splashtop to remote control it on iPad - quite dissapointed to find out that a streamer/server is required to be able to remote control (although I understand why it's required to improve the experience/controls) - and that it's only available for Mac and Windoze.
I'm running Ubuntu in 'Classic' mode.
Since all my PC's run Ubuntu or Linux MInt, I would love to see this.
A Linux version of streamer is a MUST !!!
As there's already an OSX version this shouldn't be to complex. And as you're not charging for the streamer part - why don't you just OpenSource it while licensing/charging for ALL clients ? I'm sure it would rock.
I'm only using linux (ubuntu), so if you want me as a customer, please release a linux version!
A lot of people use Linux as their Home Theatre PC (HTPC), and Splashtop (Touchpad especially) would be useful as a lounge room keyboard/mouse replacement. That's what I came looking for. Please make it for us, thanks.
When will the streamer/client for Linux be out? I think it is long overdue, when you have Mac and Windows versions for quite a while? Ubuntu is my primary OS for home use. And I would love to be able to use Splashtop on it. I kmow there are rdp and vnc solutions for Linux machines, but I like splashtop on my iphone, android tablet and windows machine very much. Why not on Linux, too?
Add me to the "I want a Splashtop Streamer for Linux" crowd. I also use Ubuntu as my main OS at home. I use an Android Honeycomb (soon to be ICS) tablet with Splashtop HD. So far on my Windows implementation I find that its the best RDP like solution. I use Mocha VNC to connect to my Linux desktop (and Dyn DNS versus Google sign in to connect to both remotely.) Splashtop is so smooth and flawless.
Right now my box is a Ubuntu 11.10/Windows 7 dual boot, but Ubuntu is the default OS in my Grub bootloader. I can Wake on Lan with my tablet, but can only get to the default OS. Which means I either have to switch my default OS in Grub to Windows (which I don't want to do) or figure out a way to control the bootloader remotely (which I'm not sure how to do) or wait until Splashtop codes a streamer for Linux (which I would like very much!)
If/When you do make a Linux version, please support more than just Ubuntu. Fedora user here.
Linux support would be great!!!!
Linux support need for all
No Linux client, no purchase Android client, no need. Oh, well... I'll keep my $$$$
Yes, please -- there's really a strong lunux community. I know you can do it! I run Ubuntu. Thanks!
+1, create Linux server and you got me as new client. No windows or mac, so I have no use for current version.
shame that a Linux based OS cannot connect to another Linux based OS, It's like some sort of sad joke...I would love to buy your product but I run Linux exclusively on my main box at home.
Linux server streamer app, please!
Even if I've to use Wine, I'd be okay with that! But god oh god, I badly miss Splashtop when I'm using my dev machine :(:(
Ubuntu user here. I'd love to be able to control all my machines remotely!
I switched from Windows to Linux and now I miss Splashtop very much. None of the existing remote access tools does good job on linux. I am for adding support for Linux too ( I'm using Fedora) from Android devices.
my personal and business are both linux, ubuntu and mint. I do use windows for adobe stuff. but linux for the rest of the world. and I dream that soon linux will be able to run the adobe CS5x so then no reason for mac or windows. Really though I use them all.
Please release a server for Linux. Splashtop and Android are both Linux based, should not be much of a problem to release a Linux server. You will gain a customer if the remote server is released for Linux.
and another one for linux please.... with the release of the raspberry-pi soon that runs on linux i think you will have thousands of customers that need linux support!! www.raspberrypi.org
Please ubuntu needs a release of your fine product. I will need to cancel my purchase of splashtop. Sorry.
I use splashtop in windows and I feel very satisfied
I'm using ubuntu linux too for watching movies in xbmc, so it would be so much great if the developers start developing linux-version splashtop server and put all the function like windows-version splashtop server
Sorry for bad english
+1 this idea!
agree, please get er done!
mast voted request, implement it :o
hey! natostanco rights, why splashtop streamer linux version not created? WTF? Admins, answer the question?
Give us a linux splashtop streamer and I would be happy to buy the app :)
I would buy the app if there was a linux version. Works great on windows but I only have one windows server.
Please add Linux support!
Hi, I'm using splashtop remote on HP Touchpad with WebOS and I also would like to have the server version for Linux, as I use Ubuntu as my primary home pc, thanks!!!
Yep please. I'm currently using it on MacOS, Windows 8, Windows 7, and would love to use it to connect to my Linux server.
please, great app just need it for linux!
I use splashtop on my Android tablet and would love support for Ubuntu which I use at home and work.
Mac and PC, now you must include linux! Come on!
I would also like to put in a vote for this. It doesn't need to be open source if you are worried about the proprietary software. This software is so much more useful than any of the other remote desktops because of the hardware acceleration; I would love to be able to control my desktop with it. Also, as a point of note, although Linux users may represent a smallish percentage of the desktop users, I would imagine that the percentage of Linux users that know and would be willing to setup a remote desktop is much higher than for PC or Mac (Note this is not meant to be a criticism of either Mac or Windows users). Just a thought.
Vote me too!
I too run Linux on my primary desktop. I would really appreciate linux support. Unfortunately I bought this without checking first.
Create a Linux streamer, please.
One note. Ubuntu != Linux. Please widen your range. I'd love this for my company, BUT we don't run Ubuntu. We do run Linux
