Hi,
I'm trying to connect my HTC Desire to my PC using splashtop, and have set up the client to access my computer. I've put in my IP address, and the ports are all forwarded fine. When I try to connect, the computer I'm trying to access responds, with a notification saying "android is controlling this computer." However, the phone does not connect, saying "connect failed"; if I try again, it says "server busy" until I restart the Splashtop service on the computer itself.
The application works fine over LAN, and I've used the open port tool on DynDNS and the PFPortCheck program to verify that my ports are open (they are), so I am at a loss.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!

You can have a reference from this link to know more about remote connection:

I just actually noticed that it works when I use the Splashtop Remote browser app, so the connection it must be on the Remote Desktop app side
Any news on this issue? Have the same issue on my Nexus One: LAN/wifi connections are no problem, but 3G/internet access does not work although port forwarding is set up correctly. The desktop says 'android is controlling this computer', the Hints screen shows up on the Android app but after clicking ok and a black screen appears for a couple of seconds and then it says 'splashtop remote - Unable to connect'
Hi Tony,
We are working on it, but still without solid schedule. Please stay tuned. Thanks!
I was receiving this error as well on the one bundled with the TF. I went into the router config and added the other 2 ports besides the default. So instead of just setting up 6783 i set up a range of 6783-6785 as it states in the app that 6784 and 6785 will be used as well. Once I made this change on my router config I was able to make my connection successfully. I hope this helps, everyone let me know if this is helpful.
Thanks.
That is just following the instructions Matt.
I have my ports forwarded correctly on my router (6783-6785) and I'm experiencing the same problem as the OP. I see the same notification on my computer and the same "connect failed" on my Asus Transformer. Really hope this gets fixed soon.
Thanks for the replies. As Joe stated setting up the port range 6783-6785 is following the instructions. But still does not solve the problem in my setup....
Hello everybody , I'm a new app user few day ago , the app is working great in my local network , but when try to connect from exterior network have the same issue ,I have :

Hi All,
Splashtop Remote HD v1.9.6.5 is formally released. This version supports 'internet discovery' now. You can use it even when you are out of home or office, and controll your PC remotely without network setup.
Splashtop Remote HD is not limited within the same wifi network now. Have a try!
Finally worked from the remote network. Port forwarding being the only issue for the most part. Tried one computer only and dedicated all three ports 6783 - 6785 to one single computer and it worked just fine. Very clean. Best fit for the device screen resolution works flawlessly. Finally came to a point where i now think i got my money's worth buying the HD version. Enjoying netflix on my new toshiba thrive. Glad i bought it when it was for $4.99 as opposed to $9.99 now.
I added the other ports like Matt said and now it works. Thanks Matt!
Where do I download the HD version?? Only the regular version shows in the market
