Firewall Settings for Splashtop Remote - nProtect Anti-virus/Spyware 3.0

1.  Invoke the nProtect software, then click the “Advanced Mode” button.

2.  The “Settings” tab of the Virus/Spyware screen will be displayed.

3.  Click “Personal Firewall” at the left side of the window.

4.  In the Personal Firewall screen, click the “Program” tab and then click the “Add” button.

5.  Browse to the “C:\Program Files\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server” folder.

     5-1.  Click “DataProxy” and then click the “Open” button.

6.  “DataProxy.exe” will be added to the “Program” list.

7.  Double-click on “DataProxy.exe.”  A “Program Authorization Detail Settings” window opens.

8.  Click on “Connection Operation” and select the “Allow” option from the drop-down list.

9.  Likewise, click on “Server Operation” and select the “Allow” option from the drop-down list.  Then click the “OK” button.

10.  After clicking “OK,” you will be returned to the “Personal Firewall” screen.

11.  Repeat Steps 4 through 8 to add the following files into the “Program” list.  After all of the below have been added, you are finished with the required settings.

 

C:\Program Files\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server

  • Dataproxy.exe (only necessary if still using Internet Discover feature)
  • spupnp.exe (only necessary if still using Internet Discover feature)
  • SRFeature.exe
  • SRLogin.exe (no longer exists in ver. 2.x and later)
  • SRServer.exe
  • SRUpdate.exe
