Why do I only see part of my computer screen on my tablet/phone?

This normally occurs if you are using the Win7 Streamer.  Here are some suggestions for you to try:

1.  Use the "native resolution" of the computer.  To change the screen resolution setting, tap the Splashtop icon STR_29.png in your tablet or phone's Home screen to display the list of computers that have been added.  Tap the arrow button settings-button-in-added-listing.png to the right of the desired computer name in the list, then change the resolution as desired.

2.  If you are using the Aero theme, the "Custom DPI setting" option will be enabled.  Please check the current value and try to select different scaling sizes, i.e. 100%, 125%, or 150%, to see if there is any difference.

3.  If you are not using the Aero theme, the "Custom DPI setting" option will be disabled, but you can still try to change the scaling size to see if there is any difference.  Generally, 100% or 125% should be good for Splashtop Remote.

note.gif  NOTE:  You can verify whether or not you are using the Aero Theme via the Control Panel:

Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Personalization

There will be 3 options (as below) and you will see which one you are using:

  • My themes
  • Aero themes
  • Basic and High Contrast themes

The app shows only 2/3 of a Mac's screen. Do PC users see even less?

I downloaded and installed XDisplay and that got better.  I still don't like the way it changes the resolution on my laptop display when my iPad connects, however.

    (1) I wish the default option was to use the computer's native display size instead of the current default of forcing to iPad screen size. That forced resize, if you forget to change it, can undo a lot of window placement work.

    (2) Is there an upper limit of supported native display sizes? I just migrated to a new iMac with a res of 2560x1440. Even with the native size option selected in Splashtop, the iMac display goes blue then returns resized before it shows up in Splashtop. At least when it does this it does not rearrange windows to fit, but it does mean that some things are out of range of the resized display.
