I would like to request support for multiple monitors. Both my home and work environments are dual-screen.

Why can I not connect to my PC from my office? I am trying to connect via Dell Streak 2.2 but the only time I can make the connection is if I am at home already, on my personal WiFi network. What do I do?

    Hi, Joshua Maestas,

Thanks to be user of Splashtop Remote,

From your description, I think you are saying the PC with Splashtop Remote server installed in office can not be found by your Dell Streak, is this the case. If it is, I think it may be caused by your PC and the Dell Streak is not in the same subnet, you can manually  add a PC in your Splashtop Remote on Dell Streak by pressing hard Menu button and selecting "Add" to add one.

In Add a computer page, you need to specify a name, correct server's IP address, the correct password setting on your PC's Splashtop Remote, Port and Resolution (usually, keep them not changed).

    Hope this helps.
Should you still encounter problems, please don't hesitate to write back for assistance.

    Regards,
    Splashtop Support Team

    Hello again,

I have manually added my computers, ip address and all. I have made the names even match. The ports are 100% unblocked in the firewall and through the router. I even tried taking my computer to work, and trying to connect through their open connection. Everything is a failure.

I always get the message "Could not reach" and then connection failed. I tried setting up a VPN but that seems to have failed as well.

I have managed to connect my mytouch 4g to my home pc successfully via wifi, but I have had no luck connecting via the 4g data network.  I have followed the guidance provided on port forwarding and opening the firewall, but after several attempts, I am still unable to connect.  Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated.   Thanks, Larry

    Hi, Joshua Maestas,

    Thanks again,

In your case, I think two possibilities, one is when your PC is at home, your personal router's port forwarding is still not setting correctly, here is the a link you can refer:

    http://support.splashtopremote.com/entries/266271-how-do-i-connect-to-my-home-pc-from-outside-of-home

the another case when you are in the office, your PC's network should be an LAN ip like 192.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x, in this case, your Android IP with WiFi should be in the LAN too, in this case, you still can not connect?

In order to solve the problem more quickly, I suggest you to submit a ticket, please do as:
1.Just type any word in the "Ask a question" box, and search in the support home page
    2. in the result, fire a ticket by "Fill out a request form" under "Get in touch"

Thanks for using Splashtop Support Service.

    Hi, Lawrence Stollar,

Thanks to be Splashtop Remote user.

Usually, it should work correctly once you have set the port forwarding and firewall correctly. for your case, I can suggest you to do some port forwarding and firewall checking.

1.on your home PC, open a browser, and type in www.whatismyip.com, when the page comes out, it will tell your public IP, please check that's correct.
2.in your home PC, open a browser, and open http://www.dyndns.com/support/tools/openport.html, you can see a Host and Port test area, please input your public IP and port, for Port, you need to check 3 times for 6783, 6784, and 6785 in case you have not changed your Splashtop Remote's configuration.

If both of them are correctly, the another possibility is the firewall setting. that's quite a complicated thing need to go through step by step.

    @Splashtop support

I wanted to thank you for your help. I did go to www.whatismyip.com like you said, however it gave me an IP address that was very close to mine, but a few numbers off.

It said 98.127.XX.XXX with the last five numbers incorrect. I opened the webportal for my router and discovered my Primary DNS IP was the number I needed. I added that as the IP address for THIS computer and it worked! The ports were opened correctly the whole time, the real problem was that the IP address I had for my computer was wrong wherever I checked. I went in to the CMD prompt and did ipconfig to see what was listed there and it was wrong too.

Sill don't know why that is.

Anyway, my laptop at home is now connected via home WiFi network, and I can access it through my Dell Streak over 3G! Yay!

    Hi, Joshua Maestas,

Congratulations to you that you can connect to your PC over 3G.

From your description on IP issue, it looks some rule on ISP i'm not clear. sorry, I have no more suggestion on this, but maybe you can contact your ISP to check why.

Thanks for using Splashtop Support Service.

I purchased Splashtop Remote on my iPad and absolutely loved it.  Now that you have an Android application, can you please allow me to download it on my Motorola Droid phone?  Since I paid for it already on one device, I do not think it's appropriate to have to buy it a second time.

    Thanks!

    @dhruv jyoti:

Our sales model requires payment for the mobile clients but not the host PCs.

We think that is the fairest way for you to experience Splashtop Remote, and for us to make a business, especially when we have to devote new engineering resources to the Android platform.

If you are still interested in using Splashtop Remote on Android, we are running a $1.99 promotion – so you can take advantage of the lower price, but hurry, it may not last long!
